ELECTRIC FOREST: GETTING HERE

Alright fellow Coloradans. Starting on Monday, Kelly Lindau, Jacey Masson, Joseph DiBiasi and myself started the 1300 mile drive to Rothbury, Michigan. We drove straight through the night leaving from Greeley, Colorado at 3:30PM. 14 1/2 hours later and 3 straight states, we made our way to Madison, Wisconsin to relax and go boating before we headed the final 6 1/2 hours to meet up with our Colorado Crew before heading to the festival. After many hugs were exchanged, ice and food was purchased, and excited honks were exchanged, we headed on a 10 car caravan across Michigan. We knew we were close when there were cops directing traffic. We pulled in, and this is where our shenanigans began. All was fine until we told them we didn’t have our wristbands yet… We sent Jacey and Joseph to the campsite with all the other fellow Coloradans while we began a wild goose chase for our bracelets. We finally hunted them down, found our crew, kicked back with some drinks, threw on some sun screen, and promptly took a nap. The music starts at 6PM here at Electric Forest, and our top five artists to see are Borgore, Wolfgang Gartner, and Ghostland Observatory on the Ranch Arena and Eoto and Beats Antique at Sherweood Court. However, there are many shows going on all weekend and we are excited to experience such a large collaboration of music! Keep checking back here for cool photos and more blog updates!

All listed above threw down so hard at Red Rocks on Friday, May, 18th. I had such an amazing time at this show. It was an incredible combination of awesome bundled into one. I had my best friend, VIP, Red Rocks, and incredible music to jam to. It can’t get much better than that. Thanks to the 303 magazine photographers for posting a gallery of phenomenal photos from the event. Make sure to check all the great pictures for yourself!

It is time for a Doctor P/Flux Pavillion reunion! RED ROCKS HERE I COME!

The only thing separating me and VIP tickets to Flux and Doctor P at Red Rocks is 3 hours of class a day for Maymester… FML. oh well! I haven’t missed a Colorado Flux show yet, and I’m not starting now. Best Birthday Present Ever for my Best Friend JACEY MASSON :)

What did I do the Friday night before finals? Party at the Aggie Theater of coarse! How could I not with such an epic show going down? Got Bass and Red Eye combined forces to bring Colorado favorite, Minnesota, to our very own party town, Fort Collins on May 4. The Aggie was bumping with music all night thanks to the fabulous local resident DJ’s K-Mac (with live drumming!), The Digital Connection (Ricky Shine), K-Smash (Kelly Lindau), Seth Abrumz, and Vinnie Maniscalco. All of our boys threw down hard to keep the show raging well into the morning of the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

Everyone was having a great time with sexy go-go’s dancing their asses off all night, and a packed dance floor keeping good vibes all around. And there was plenty to do even away from the stage to have a good time. Apart from the bar filled with plenty of your favorite drinks there was an up and coming merch company displaying their sick apparel. Not only are their logos hilariously awesome and the talk of a party, but they are in men’s and women’s. As a girl, we all know how hard it is to find sick music tee’s that are made for the ladies. By the end of the night, many of the girls AND guys were proudly showing off their Dubstep Whore status. This article is beautiful. I love the message that it sends and the concepts that it grasps. This idea is the reason why I, myself, am not religious. YOU’RE CHRISTIAN UNLESS…” unless what? God loves everyone and forgives all sin, except if you’re anything but exactly what society thinks you should be… This idea is so paradoxical to the basic spiritual principals of religion, yet so prevalent in our country and around the world. I don’t know what I believe yet, and I don’t think I will ever truly will. But what I do know, is that I respect people who are religious for spiritual reasons. But also, I will always tend to question people’s logical reasoning when they only reiterate what their parents and communities have stated in the past. Everyone has the right to believe what they want, and I would never argue that. But the only thing I would appreciate people to think about is the prospect that just because something is a societal “norm”, does not make it correct. For example, if societal norms were always correct, than slavery would still exist and women would still not have the right to vote. You can still be Christian, Jewish, Muslim, OR Gay, and love everyone :).
